Piotr Marciniuk, MD, PhD fellow
Vascular surgeon specialist with a keen interest in the minimally invasive treatment of vascular pathology. Throughout his career, he has been affiliated with the Department of Vascular Surgery at the University Clinical Centre in Gdansk and the Medical University of Gdansk, where he received his training in vascular surgery. He has performed a substantial number of open and endovascular arterial and venous procedures. Additionally, he has undergone thorough training in some of Europe’s most recognized hospitals, including the Uppsala Aortic Center and Örebro University Hospital.
His interests and dedicated work have led to various research projects in the field of vascular surgery. Currently, he is working on his PhD thesis, studying factors involved in type 2 endoleaks after endovascular aortic aneurysm repair (EVAR).
From the early stages of his career, Dr. Marciniuk has demonstrated a significant interest in endovenous treatment of varicose veins. In collaboration with Dr. Nikolay Belimenko, he owns and operates the prominent vein center, Vena Clinic, in Poland. Their exceptional experience in endovenous laser ablation has resulted in the development of the tEVLT (total endovenous laser treatment) modification. This modification allows for the treatment of vein trunks and tributaries with laser in a radical one-stage procedure, delivering outstanding aesthetic and long-term results.
Furthermore, he serves as a lecturer at the Medical University of Gdansk and conducts training in vascular surgery for the new generation of medical students and young doctors.
